Here are all the coupons and deal for the Publix Ad starting on 7/11 or 7/10 depending where you live. This is a fun week with FREE Pillsbury rolls and lots of other great deals under $1! We are also seeing the first of the school supply deals, though sadly there aren’t many coupons yet. Don’t forget to check out the deals in the addtional 2-3 week long flyers. Remember, if you are logged in (at the top) you can save them all to one shopping list! (ends friday) If you find any extra deals or coupons, please let us know in the comments. There is a lot of controversy. The word from Clairol is that yes, it can be used and yes, the retailer will get reimbursed, however, the coupon was meant to be only for hair color, and if people use the coupon for a product not intended, they will have to offer lower value coupons in the future. So you have to decide if you want to follow the ‘letter of the law’ and use it, or the ‘spirit of the law’ and not use it. For me, a couple of shampoos or conditioners (inexpensive ones at that) are not really worth using the coupon in a way that it was not intended. It’s certainly up to each person to do what feels right, but yes, you can use it. I, too, was wondering if the qpon would work on the Herbal Essences BW at Publix this week and was going to take a trip today (will post if it accepts). I keep seeing people from these boards post and say they aren’t using the coupon because it wasn’t for what it was intended, yada, yada. The reality is that $5 off product is still $5 off product! The company isn’t ‘LOSING” money and the threats of them not issuing future coupons is ridiculous. When I redeem coupons, my store doesn’t follow the spirit of the coupon, they want the exact quantity, by the expiry day, and exact amount, they don’t give me options, it is the LETTER of the law so the same holds true. I am certainly not going to break Clairol, and over a lifetime, I feel I’ve certainly purchased enough products that I don’t feel guilty when they give me back a bunch of free product! You have to understand that different ‘arms’ of the company have their own budgets and profit margins. If you get $5 off of a very inexpensive product, and get it free, certainly you can see that the company makes $0. It’s the same as a service-related company offering you $25 off with a minimum $100 purchase of a particular service. Do you question why you can’t just have $25 off whatever purchase you make? Probably not. Because the percentage off, economically-speaking, is relative. You simply cannot say “$5 off is $5 off”. It’s not, because if the coupon is used as the company intended, they would be reaping the benefit of some profit, plus the marketing of the particular product for which the coupon is to be used. And I have not seen anyone say that Clairol said that they would not issue coupons in the futurewhat they said was that they would reconsider issuing ‘high value’ coupons. I believe that you will certainly be able to use this coupon to get some cheap shampoo. And if you’re okay with that, it’s your prerogative. I choose not to, but it’s simply a personal choice.
